Excellent friendly staff and very good food . Treatment was included in price and therapists very professional-we had great relaxing massages. No pool but had a hot tub outside-tip for spa please put hooks inside the roof so robes don’t get wet if it rains ours were soaked . Spa outside could do with a sweep and tidy lounge beds were dirty and covered in leaves. Quite a few leaves in hot tub too. Hotel again staff very friendly, room was huge and very impressive, bathroom clean and modern. Plenty of spaces to sit by the fire and relax throughout the hotel and big grounds to walk in. It’s an old castle so you have to allow for a very intermittent Wi-Fi connection! It does need some TLC though paint peeling in places. Gardens need weeding. That said we had a nice relaxing break for a reasonable price .

Pros: The spa was very clean and well-maintained. Our treatment was fantastic! The cream tea was also lovely - scones were gorgeous. Cons: Perhaps I just didn't read my booking correctly, but we were disappointed to find out that we were only able to use the hot tub for one hour. There was no swimming pool either.

The receptionist in the spa was very pleasant and made us very welcome. She explained everything to us clearly. We first had our mud rasul. There was a few issues with the treatment room. The room itself was a little tired but everything worked OK for us. There was still mud on the floor from the last user. And the whole room could use a little bleach on the tiling but ok overall. And there's a taped off wire sticking through the wall which was a little worrying in wet steamy conditions! The treatment was fun and relaxing. We then had an hour in the hot tub which was very good. The setting outside is really beautiful and tranquil. The following day we both had a full body massage which was very good although quite pricey at £85 each. We probably wouldn't choose to have this again but didn't check the price before we booked which is our own fault. Used to paying about £60 -£70. Overall it was a good experience.

My Husband and I visited Ruthin Castle Spa for a spa afternoon. The surroundings of the castle were beautiful and the peacocks were lovely to watch. The spa experience itself was very relaxing we had the body and facial treatment which were excellent. Then to finish it off we had cream tea, the scones were amazing! All in all a great experience. We were well looked after by all the staff who were very nice and helpful.

The grounds of Ruthin Castle are lovely, we counted 12 peacocks resting in a tree the first night we arrived, then the next morning they were all on the grounds, rabbits too. The reception team friendly and helpful, the room was clean and bathroom lovely. Restaurant and bar is very rustic and authentic, bar staff lovely and friendly. Food very good and tasty, breakfast nice selection. The castle was kept very clean except windows and mirrors. Paintwork a little chipped in places but over all very enjoyable stay. If you want 5* modern decor and furnishings then maybe not for you, but for a 13th century castle that’s rustic, clean and nice atmosphere, good food and lovely grounds I can highly recommend.
